Anthony Magro

Playwright

Anthony Magro is a native of Toronto where he studied film production at the Trebas Institute and creative writing at Humber College. He has produced and directed three short films from his original screenplays, including BedHeads, an official selection of film festivals across North America. Anthony especially enjoys writing about musicians. He is the author of Contemporary Cat, an authorized biography of world-renowned jazz trumpeter and film composer Terence Blanchard. His forthcoming novel, Valerie Raines, is about a gifted cellist whose relationship woes subvert her lifelong dream of joining the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Borodin’s Muse is his first play.
