Media Release: Gallery Players of Niagara Announces 2026/27 Season

The Gallery Players of Niagara 2026-27 Season Sparkles!

Niagara region mainstay continues to grow with the community.

St Catharines, ON, (September 22, 2026) - The Gallery Players of Niagara (GPN), one of Niagara’s most prominent presenters of intimate and informal classical music, is delighted to announce its 2026-27 season lineup. The exciting season features seven Main Stage concerts in venues across St. Catharines, along with an expanded series of Adaptive Performances at Thorold Centre 50+. GPN continues to bring leading classical music stars to the region.

Says Margaret Gay, Artistic & Administrative Director: “We’re excited to open our 2026–2027 Main Stage season with Schmaltz & Pepper, an ensemble exploring the lively intersections of classical, klezmer and jazz music. It’s a great introduction to a season that moves freely across musical styles and centuries, with concerts ranging from Baroque masterworks to new and unexpected musical connections. We’ve already had a wonderful start with our Bach Walk, which brought all six of Bach’s cello suites to six downtown St. Catharines venues as part of Ontario Culture Days. As the season continues, we’re also expanding our Adaptive Performances, while our Pay-What-You-Choose admission continues to make our Main Stage concerts accessible to everyone. We look forward to sharing a season full of discovery, connection and great live music with our audiences.”

Chamber music brings audiences close to the music and the musicians, opening up an extraordinary 400-year, globe-spanning repertoire full of richness, variety, and surprise. This season brings with it a wide range of music that flows across generations, cultures, and communities. Gallery Players of Niagara also hosts a wide range of guest artists, this year including the JUNO and GRAMMY award-winning Schmaltz & Pepper, Eybler Quartet, members of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, a co-production with Capella Intima & North Wind Concerts, Interro Quartet, and more.

Accessibility has always been at the heart of Gallery Players of Niagara. Pay-What-You-Choose tickets are available at the door of all Main Stage concerts thanks to the generous support of Prose HR, and children under 16 are always free.

New this year, GPN is excited to announce an expansion of its Adaptive Performances, from 3 to 6 events. These concerts are family-friendly, accessible, and inclusive performing arts experiences for music lovers from the neurodiverse and disability communities, or anyone simply wanting a more relaxed concert experience.

Subscriptions are available, including:

  • All-Access: The full season for only $140, representing 50% off tickets (seven live concerts + access to four virtual performances);

  • Pick 4

  • Virtual only (four concerts enjoyed from anywhere in the world)

 Single Tickets are also available for all performances.

About Gallery Players of Niagara

Since our founding in 1994, The Gallery Players of Niagara has become one of Niagara’s most prominent presenters of classical chamber music.  Each season we offer a vibrant, diverse array of chamber music, from Vivaldi to Brahms to improvised music for silent movies.  Showcasing Canadian performers, we present baroque repertoire on period instruments, commission and perform new Canadian works, and explore the broad depth of repertoire in between. The shared experience of enjoying live concerts enriches individuals and strengthens communities. Embodying our belief that access to art is a human right, our Open Doors initiative supports barrier-free access to all our concerts. This season Prose HR is sponsoring our Pay-What-You-Choose initiative.
